For English, we had to write a short paragraph about ourselves without using “to be” verbs (am, are, is, was, were, be, been, being). However, I didn’t realize until today that we also had to change any passive verbs into actives. I am having a lot of difficulty understanding exactly what that means & how to fix it. Below is my completed paragraph, with the passive mistakes, obviously. I just don’t understand how to fix something like “I moved to *my current town*” into the active. I’m already here, I can’t say I move to my current town. I would just like help further understanding this, I’m not asking someone to fix my mistakes for me (just so I don’t have to see a bunch of “you’re cheating” comments.)
I moved back to *my current town* a short time ago after spending my sophomore year in *my previous town*. I have a very quiet & polite demeanor. For about seven years I have played piano, & I have played violin for six years. At *my school name* I play in Chamber Orchestra. Other interests of mine include reading, crafts such as bracelet making, & listening to music. My music selection consists of pretty much anything except for rap. I also take pleasure in writing poetry & lyrics, though I feel my work does not display the proficiency I would like to have. I hope to better my writing in the upcoming year as an AP English student.

I dont want directions with beads, personally I dont like the beads. But I love to make bracelets out of string & hemp. Its fun. I would just love to have more designs that I can make. But I cant find any… Does anyone know where I can find some different types WITH the instructions :] thank youu

I just got my bracelet saturday & im starting to notice the clasp is changing color. Im not really worried about it being fake I was wondering if there’s a way to stop it from doing that. I was also wondering if there was a way I could fix the color. I haven’t gone swimming or worn it in the shower. I take it off b4 i work, & i don’t sleep with it on.

I accidentally threw my fake gold chain bracelet in a cup filled with water & took it out & cleaned it with a towel. Now I’m not sure & can’t tell if the gold has lost it’s shine. I forgot how it was usually. My question is does fake gold fade or lose it’s shine if it’s poured or touched with water? I’m not 100% sure it’s fake but I bought it at a flea market for 40 bucks so I’m assuming it’s fake lol..

my friends had a semi-recent fight ( in around august + septemberish ) & they got really mad at me for liking alternative music & apparently turning “emo”. ( i know, stupid right? ) They got really mad, & upset at me for ONE of them that i might hang out with new ppl.
that ONE told everyone else. well i had managed to “fix everything up.
now my so-called friends follow me EVERYWHERE.
they are trying to fit in with my skater friends… they are extremely annoying by wearing “sex-bands” ( some stupid bracelet game, when you wear rubber bands a certain way ) & wearing too much make-up & overly punk-ish clothes… It really bothers me, i know i sound conceited & stuck-up, but i feel that they are not in there “place”.
it bothers me so much i cant go to sleep sometimes….
my question is: How do I get them to stop?

my boyfriend kindly asked if he could clean my silver tiffany necklace & bracelet set yesterday.he couldn’t find the fairy liquid so used BLEACH!the set went black.i scrubbed for a while but no joy.then i left it in water.The black has gone a cream colour & it scrapes off.any suggestions on how to get it back to normal.

It’s called How He Changed My Life:
Chapter 1-How I met & made a complete, udder fool out of myself in front of him
I was on my summer vacation with my mom, Lilli & my step-dad, Jesse. I was running down the beach at the Mérida Ocean resort in Mexico. Boy is that a great place, a lot better than when we went to Australia & ‘hung out’ with the wild life… & the bugs.
Anyway, so I was jogging along my shoulder length blonde hair bouncing with my steps. My new shoes rubbed my feet raw. I ran along the water line swerving out when the water came too close. I stopped for a breath & saw a boy pass me.
From what I could see of him, he was cute, not just cute, but hot. I continued running, knowing it wouldn’t matter if I stopped him no one ever wants to go out with me. Sweat glistened on my forehead as the sun came fully out of the clouds. I raised my face up to the sky & took a deep breath.
I tripped. My foot stuck in a long wooden trunk that lay across the beach. My face smashed into the sand & clung to my teeth & lips. Ow. The pain, I thought. I pulled on my foot. I couldn’t get it out. Sand stuck to my face & neck. I turned my face to breath & shoved my body away from the sticky sand with my arms.
“You okay?” A voice came from behind me.
“Not really.” I answered.
“Let me help.” The voice said. I felt a tugging at my foot. I blushed. God. I felt the tight pressure on my foot release. I felt hands wrap around my arms, then helped me up.
“Thanks.” I said, brushing the sand off my yellow tank-top & grey shorts. I started to pick the sand out of my eyebrows & off my lips, but then I saw who it was. It was the boy. “Hi My names Ellie, Ellie Ashton.”
“I’m Cole Meyer.” He shook my hand. “So are you going to be all right?”
“Yeah, I think so. Oh, & thanks, again. Very helpful.”
“So, why are you here? I’m here on vacation with my mom & dad.”
“Me, too.”
“So, how long are you staying?” We walked down the beach casually talking.
“All summer, & you?”
“Same. We went to London last year.” The clock tower in the center of the Resort chimed for noon.
“Thanks for saving my life, but I got to go.”
“Nice meeting you.”
“You, too.” I waved goodbye & walked to the main building. I went through the door & the air conditioning gave me goose bumps. I went up to my room to take a shower.
After I got out of the shower, I blow-dried my hair & took a nap. Napping is not usually my thing, but I’m going to a bash in the square, for teens.
Before the party I got ready, applying mascara, lip-gloss, & eye shadow lightly, not trying to overdo it. I pulled on my brand new brown summer dress with black flats.
“What’s the occasion?” Lilli asked.
“Bash in the square. I need a necklace or a… bracelet. No, earrings. What do I do?” I begged.
“Here,” she unclipped her long silver necklaces & handed them to me. I put them on & looked in the full body mirror. I touched my neck & then spun around on my tippy-toes.
“Thanks mom.”
“You’re welcome Ellie.” She said.
So, in preparation I re-applied my lip-gloss & mascara. I smiled brightly in the mirror; my teeth were straight & white, straight from non-needed braces, white from strips & lasers. My mom had my teeth whitened a few times when I was fourteen & fifteen. I had modeled for teen clothes. My mom got obsessive & I quit.
My blonde hair hung in layers, flitting against my shoulder. The hazelnut highlights brought out my green-blue eyes. My tan was fading. Yes, I spent a lot of time in the sun, but that doesn’t mean it stays.
I left for the party. In the elevator I met up with my friend Brazil & Sheri. They complimented me, as I did them.
Sheri wore white pants & a dark navy long-sleeve shirt with a black oxford vest & black cowboy boots. Brazil wore a brown skirt with black tights, a dark brown lace tank-top & black flats that covered her toes. Her brown hair had blonde highlights & was twisted up in to a thick braided bun. Sheri’s sandy red hair was hanging down.
We arrived at the party. The bright lights flashing, the DJ’s music screaming loudly, the people dancing & chatting happily, & the food was prepared on a long white table.
Then I saw him. Cole. He stood in the middle of the dance floor looking lost. He smiled when he saw me, & then waved me over.
“Give me a second, okay?” I said to Brazil & Sheri. Then walked over to him.

I broke up with my boyfriend a while ago. We had a good relationship, it lasted for a few months, but we always fought about the fact that I wasn’t ready to have sex with him. It just would not stop, & I couldn’t take it anymore, so I broke it off. I broke up with him at my house, on my porch. After, he said he wanted the quite expensive bracelet he got me for Christmas back. I just gave it to him, I wasn’t in the mood to argue anymore. After this, he proceeded to park down the street & wait for me to leave (I mentioned that I had to go to the bank & cash my check before the bank closed). When I left, there he was. I went on with my day after that, then a few hours later, he called me to tell me that I’d made a mistake, & a bunch of stuff. He texted my friends, my parents, & my brother all saying that I made a huge mistake & they should try to fix it. They all declined, obviously. He called & texted me later & said that he wanted to die, & if I didn’t take him back, he’d kill himself. I still said no, but said that maybe we could talk again in a few weeks, after we both thought about what we wanted. He said no, he wanted me right now. I said no, & he just kept alternating “You’re a horrible person & I want to die & I hate you” & “I love you & always will”. I just don’t know what to do. He has no close friends, his parents are kind of air-headed, his brothers are complete idiots, I was really all he had. I’m just worried that I really screwed this kid up, but I don’t want to be his girlfriend & get pressured into anything. Help please
